Hello Giovanna. So excited to have you on my blog! Please tell us more about your company.
Thank you for having me! Our company, Confused Girl, designs high-quality yoga wear made in Los Angeles, California. We have created active wear that seamlessly integrates fashion and athleisure, suitable for going to brunch and then to the gym.
What were your motivations for starting your own business?
I began my career as a blogger documenting my journey to find my true nature. On this journey, I met a healer who gave me two crystals. These crystals inspired me to start my own active-wear line based on the fundamental healing attributes of the stones. The healing crystals balance yin/yang energy and cultivate courage, creativity, and healing. Confused Girl supports the journey of other women and the goal of finding their unique life purpose. Touched, moved, and inspired, I started my journey as a startup.
What are the biggest challenges of being an entrepreneur?
You have to be incredibly patient and persistent. Persistence is not too difficult for me but patience is something I have had to learn. Things never happen as fast as you want them too. When this happens, you have to keep believing in yourself and hustle while you wait.
What did you learn from your biggest failures?
4 years ago I felt like a big failure in my life. I was unemployed, broke, single and had very little confidence. One of the greatest things that happened to me at this time was, I stopped caring what other people thought of me. Because I didn’t care about validation anymore, I got to create what was really in me to create. I got to be authentically me.
What are the benefits of practicing yoga?
Omg…so many benefits. Sure, it’s great exercise and your body looks awesome but that is just a perk. Yoga is my hour of power. It is the place I go to reconnect with myself and also set intentions. It helps keep me grounded and grateful in our fast paced world.
How often do you practice yoga? What is your favourite yoga pose?
I practice at least 3-4 times a week. My favourite pose is crescent pose. I feel like a warrior princess in that pose…lol!
What is your biggest inspiration?
Ooooo that’s a tough question. So many things inspire me. I would have to say authenticity. True authenticity inspires me.
How does your typical day look like?
I wake up at 7:30am. I read a paragraph out of my daily inspirations book. I make myself a nice espresso, check my emails and post something that inspires me on instagram. Then I either go to yoga or take a walk by the beach. My assistant comes over at 10am and we tackle the day. We brainstorm new marketing ideas, new designs and take care of tasks for the day.
If you could send a message to the world, what would it be?
Turn off the external noise and concentrate on discovering your true nature. Once you find your light, let it shine . What the world needs is more people that shine.
